Daily Bible reading is one of the most important. Perhaps
you haven't yet got into the habit of reading the Bible by yourself
each day. The main thing is to do a little bit and often.
Even if it's just 5 minutes a day, that's brilliant. Choose a time
(ideally the same time every day, to help develop a habit); find a
resource (of which more below); and get started! If you don't get on
with the resource you've chosen find something else that works for you.
And if you miss a day - don't feel guilty about it but just carry on.
[If you're using dated notes, don't feel you have to catch up with all
the days you've missed!]As
I say, below I list some resources that have been recommended to me.
But I'm hopeful that this email can start a conversation about daily
Bible reading. Do be in touch with each other with suggestions, ideas
etc. You could do this by phone, whatsapp, email, or Facebook. So here are a few suggestions. As I say, try something, and if it doesn't work then try something else! Bible reading plan - 2 options - https://www.youversion.com/the-bible-app/
Digging deeper into God's Word - Look at the Book, a series of videos by John Piper, is excellent in helping you to dig deeper into what God's saying in his Word.
Children and young people If you'd like ideas for how to read the Bible with children and young people in their families
- or indeed if you'd like suggestions for how to help them engage
during the online Sunday services - then do get in touch with the Church office for details of who to contact.
